The memory of an indescribable suffering hardly mixes with the beautiful days of the end of the summer. Photographs show the result of a devastating earthquake that left hundreds of dead and completely destroyed houses and historical monuments. The Museum of Memory doesn’t contain only this tragic moment of the city’s history. Other photographs of the Duomo that show how it was after the tragedy and how it is now, after being completely reconstructed, are a monument to the courage of the inhabitants who rebuilt their city. Another segment of history is on display at the nearby Palazzo Filangeri Cutò, where there is a museum dedicated to the Leopard and, in particular to the filmic version and its central characters: Don Fabrizio, Tancredi e Angelica.
